Guest Bio:

Jonelle is passionate about mental health and has held various positions serving at-risk youth from the Juvenile court system to being placed in a residential home setting. Most recently she has worked with the National Suicide Hotline serving those experiencing a crisis or suicidal ideations. I have always had an interest in maternal health, especially after learning some of the statistics on maternal health rates affecting women of color. In addition to her personal experience with complications during her pregnancy. Jonelle faced a high-risk pregnancy with fibroids, while carrying multiples (twins) that resulted in pre-term labor. Jonelle faced a roller coaster experience with having premature twin boys in the NICU for 72 and 74 days.

Jonelle has her master's degree from the University of Michigan School of Social Work and a bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in public health from William Paterson University. Jonelle also served in the Air Guard and spent some time as a Sexual Assault and Response Coordinator for the SAPR program. Jonelle hopes to further her military and passion for mental health to assist the military population.
